I Have been staying with Jan and crew for many years. They have always been helpful and the place always feels like home after a long day hunting. I always go late in the year when you take a chance of being iced over. Good People, Good service and a quality place to call home for ten days. I always refer people to the crew at Roy Lake when they plan a hunting or fishing trip. I hope to see you again this fall.

We stayed for a weekend in October and I was very nervous based on the reviews I saw. I was actually very impressed. We stayed in the condos up the hill from the lodge and had almost the whole place to ourselves. The condo was decently updated with just about everything you might need, except for towels with is told to travelers on their site. They also have a small store in the lodge where you can purchase food items and some personal hygiene products. Our condo was upstairs and had a deck which opened on the lake side, it was beautiful. I didn't go into any of the cabins, but they looked nice on the outside too. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The only thing I would recommend is to make sure you pack everything you need. The closest town is about a twenty minute drive. But, overall, it was a little expensive, but it was very nice. I would definitely go back.

We love camping here! The campsites are large. The lake is clean. Nice walking trail, fishing, canoe rentals, cabin rentals, fire pits, etc. The only downside is no water hook up at campsite but that’s okay we just fill our tanks. We can always get additional water there as we need. The restroom and shower facilities are clean. Reasonable rates.

Fun, cabins were great, good fishing, water was clear -early june- There was a lot of traffic around 11 pm at the resort boat dock for carp fishing. We thought they were searching for a body until I went up and asked what they were doing. All in all 5. Not the parks fault they were flooded with 10 boats in the middle of the night.

I was impressed with the condition and cleanliness of the park vs. my memory from years ago. The bathrooms in the camping area were modern, clean and we'll maintained. Kudos to South Dakota, the parks department and the staff! If this review is helpful, please click on 'Like' to improve my status.

Roy Lake had a wonderful campground with beautiful scenery. The beach is extremely nice as well. The fish cleaning station is well kept. The trails are fun for kids. The fishing wasn't too shabby either

Lovely, quiet lake with good fishing. State Park is beautiful with lots of trees and many great camping spots. We are in a small cabin with a kitchen. It's supposed to sleep eight, but six of those people better be small! We will be back!
